

Select the "LiveUpdate" button in the center of the SEP window.Open the SEP user interface by either clicking on the Symantec shield icon (yellow and black) in the macOS menu bar, or locate Symantec Endpoint Protection in the Applications folder.Once completed, the SEP window can be closed and your computer will be protected by the latest available virus definitions. The LiveUpdate window will open, begin updating, and notify you of its status.Select the "LiveUpdate" button on the left margin of the SEP window to install any new updates.Open the SEP user interface by either clicking on the Symantec shield icon (yellow and black) in the Windows system tray, or locate Symantec Endpoint Protection in the Windows program menu.Manual updates are not normally required however, it is easy to run a manual update. If there are updates available, SEP will automatically download and install them. Symantec Endpoint Protection (SEP), downloaded and installed from the UNM App Store is preconfigured to periodically check for virus definition updates throughout the day provided an internet connection is active. A "managed" version of the SEP client is available for UNM owned devices – please contact UNM IT at 50 or via Help.UNM for additional information (UNM departments who deploy Symantec Endpoint Protection on UNM owned devices can use the installation methods available in SCCM and Jamf).

The "unmanaged" client is intended for personal devices and should not be used on UNM owned devices. The version of the Symantec Endpoint Protection (SEP) client available on the UNM App Store is page is "unmanaged" – it does not report into UNM's Symantec server so centralized reporting and policy enforcement is not leveraged.
